About this site
Accountants and payroll providers log in to dozens of government tax portals. This site gathers, in one place and with sources, where each portal is, who built the system behind it, how it was bought and what it has cost.
Who compiles it
The site is compiled independently by a tax practitioner, with AI assistance. The research is done by reading public records, chiefly state procurement board agendas, legislative budget analyses, state audit reports, fiscal notes, court records and agency publications, plus vendor publications and news coverage. Every figure was checked against the cited source at the time it was added, but errors are possible.
How to read the labels
- Public record A government document: procurement agenda, budget analysis, audit, statute, court record or agency publication.
- Vendor claim The vendor's own publication. Shows the relationship, not independently confirmed by the state.
- Press / secondary News coverage or a secondary source. Not yet confirmed against a primary document.
Contract amounts are the amounts stated in the approving document (often a not-to-exceed ceiling, not money actually paid). "Whole project" estimates come from legislative analyses and include state staff and other contracts.
